Kiteboarding at the Spanish River Resort & Campground
Spanish Ontario was first discovered by David Rittberg in September 2018 and he realized that with the prevailing SW winds that have made the North Channel famous for sailing, are also fantastic for kiteboarding!
David has kited many parts of the Whales Back and North Channel and is enthusiastic about bring more kiters to experience the winds and natural beauty of the area.

The kiting infront of the campground and resort is intermediate to advanced. There is limited space to launch and land and deep water. This is not for beginners. We will be offering Boat drop offs to local islands for day trip kiters who will then either kite back or planned to be picked up later. Other possibilities are downwind trips from Algoma mills/Blind River to Spanish (depending on interest) and/or kite around the Benjamin Islands. There will be costs associated with all trips.
In case of a no wind day, we have the best fishing around! Catch monster pike, Bass, Walleye and more. We have kayaks, canoes, boats, bikes for rent. Also there is the Chutes Park, walking trails and other nature activities nearby.
*Watershoes are recommended.

Booking and ReservationsThe Spanish River Resort and Campground is a special place with some of the best fishing in all Ontario, but space is limited.
As those that have stayed here before already know...its best to book early if you wish to guarantee a Cabin, Camp Site or Boat Slip. FYI...during high season cabins are booked week to week from Sunday to Sunday while camp/RV sites are minimum 3 nights to make a reservation. We do have transient spots for those passing through but these are first come first served. Please email us and book early to avoid disappointment. Thank you. SRRC - Managment www.spanishontario.com |
