Kiteboarding is a sport that requires theory and hands-on training to build your skills. David is an experienced instructor, has been kiting since 2006, and has been teaching kiteboarding since 2008. He has travelled and worked in Vietnam - Mui Ne, Aruba - Fishermans Huts, Dominican Republic - Cabarete, Long Point-Lake Erie Canada, South Padre Islands - U.S., Brazil and now Spanish Ontario. He can also teach in 3 different languages...chances are he can speak yours too!

Kiteboarding is an exilerating adventure sport that has taken off in Canada. It consists of an inflatable airfoil (Kite) and control lines that you use to propel yourself across the water on a kiteboard, very similar to a wakeboard. This sport can be practiced on Land, Water, or Snow...making it very versatile since all you need is wind!
As the North Channel can get wind from any direction throughout the year, this is a great spot to learn and practice. |
At the Spanish River Resort, we offer a 9 hour Beginners course. It is an introductory to kiteboarding training course that will take you from being a novice with no knowledge to a beginner kiteboarder that has kite control and can be independent. We will through kite theory and kite terminology to prepare you for hands on land training and then...your water lessons! But first you will learn to practice flying techniques on land with a trainer kite. Once ready we will go out by boat to our secret teaching spot for the real water experience. You will be instructed on how to control the kite safely, understand the wind window, wind effects, possible dangerous, how to generate power and... become an aware and independent rider.
All safety gear and equipment is provided.
Helmet, life jacket, and kite leash are mandatory for your lesson.
