North Channel and Spanish Delta
Map of Spanish Delta
Spanish River Resort is only 2 mins off the TransCanada highway.

Location

The Spanish River Resort is situated at the mouth of the Spanish River Delta at the Eastern end of the North Channel,  The Delta is a fishermans paradise and is home to many popular game fish like Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass and so many more.

From our location we have access to Georgian bay and the Benjamin Islands via the Little Detroit Straight, North Channel and the Spanish River and its many creeks and triburaries. There is so much to do here, between the amazing fishing, natural beauty, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and almost endless wind for kiteboarding, your next outdoor adventure is here waiting for you at the Spanish River Resort & Campground.

Our Resort is located right at the shores of the Spanish River across from the Delta, in the Town of Spanish Ontario.

1. From the Highway turn South onto Trunk road, and then take your first left after the train tracks.
2. Drive past Gambles convenience store until you come to the stop sign. Turn right, this is Colonization Road.
3. Drive straight down to the campground and waters edge, approximately 1 km, you will pass Public Street halfway to us. (You're going the right way)
4. Before the round about, turn left into the campground.
5. Stop in front of the first building and come to the office.

It's that easy!

The town is located along the TransCanada highway #17, approximately 120 min west of Sudbury and 145 min East of Sioux Saint Marie. From the TransCanada Highway,
As we are located only minutes off the Transcanada highway, you will soon forget the noise of the city and enjoy the feeling of the sun and wind with the purr of a motorboat in the background. We offer accommodations for all budgets and you may choose a 2 bedroom water front cottage complete with kitchen or stay in the grassy treed campground in your RV, 5th-wheel, Tent or pop-up. Seasonal campers know that our spot offers the best fishing access anywhere on the Spanish River.

This year dont just go on another fishing trip, come to Spanish River Resort and make it an unforgettable vacation. Be sure to book your powerboat, canoe, Kayak or Kiteboard lessons in advance...Booking is now open for the 2020 Season.
Local information.
The North Channel body of water is along the north shore of
Lake Huron and stretches approximately 160 nautical miles and is bordered on the east by Georgian Bay, on the west by the St. Marys River, to the north by the eastern Algoma District and part of the Sudbury District, and to the south by the islands of Manitoulin, Cockburn, Drummond and St. Joseph. At its widest point it is over 30 km (20 miles) wide.

In addition to Georgian Bay, the North Channel is connected to the main body of Lake Huron by the False Detour Channel and the Mississagi Strait,  which separate the above-noted islands.

Again The Channel is recognized as one of the best freshwater cruising grounds in the world. If you are looking for a fishing trip that wont disappoint, then you want to be here at the Spanish River Resort and Campground.
